ALBANY, March 20.....Dust off the driver and check out your putter. The new season is almost here and there will be something for everyone this summer.
The '08 golf season will include two New York State championships, a Bill Parcels tournament, Scotia native Laura (Philo) Diaz returning to star in the Skins Game and the usual strong tournaments.
The season opens April 21 when members of the Northeastern New York PGA play 18 holes in Columbia County for the annual pro-pro spring meeting.
Amateurs will get in their licks on May 3-4 for the Stadium Two-Man Classic at Stadium Golf Club.
The New York State Golf Association will hold both the men's amateur championship (Pinehaven Country Club) and the seniors-super seniors event (Normanside Country Club).
