Northway 8 Demo Day proves to be a traffic stopper as the largest turnout in 30 years fills the driving range.

Area golfers like 15 yr old John Young spent his time talking with equipment experts then hitting balls looking for that perfect fit.

Young, a member of the winning Mechanicville High School golf team, watches the ball flight carefully, hoping this is the stick to help his team win the next event.

Bob Young, Mechanicville’s golf coach and John’s dad, says it takes commitment, talent and good equipment to make a competitive golfer. Young says the area has many such golfers playing on the areas’ school teams.

Keith’s high school days may be in the past but he’s still looking to improve his game and get the best of his Glenmont buddies. Titleiest representative Jeff Kelly explains how the latest technology will help his game.

Northway 8’s Scott Hoffman says this demo day turnout is an example of local businesses responding to customer needs that the big box stores leave empty.

Hoffman believes the golf business is moving toward increased customer service, especially with the new equipment and the ability to better fit that equipment to the individual golfer.

Hoffman says golfers are looking for a better fit and a better game and the local golf retailer is better able to provide the customer with this kind of customer service.  And the turnout seems to prove the point.
