'Homecoming' Time for Laura Diaz in Ellis Hospital's Skins Game in June

By Mike Dyer

NISKAYUNA, March 10....You knew her as Laura Philo, daughter of Scotia golf professional Ron Philo.
Laura Diaz is her name now and she will be the headline performer when Ellis Hospital presents its 16th annual Skins Game to Mohawk Golf Club here on June 16.

Diaz, a 2-time winner on the LPGA Tour, will be accompanied by hot-shooting Morgan Pressel with proceeds going to the Wright Heart Center at Ellis Hospital.

Diaz, a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and Wake Forest University, has won more than $4 million in her nine years on Tour. Diaz' last LPGA victory came in 2002 in the Welch's Circle K  Championship.

A year ago Diaz made the cut in 19 of 24 events. She made it to the Top 10 five times.
Last year Diaz won $530,000 on Tour.

Pressel was the U.S. Women's Open runner-up in 2005. Last year she became the youngest ever in LPGA history to win a title. At the age of 18 years and 10 months, Pressel won the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

Tickets for the Skins Game will be available at all Price Chopper markets.
